Adaptive Control of a Virtual Synchronous Generator with Multiparameter Coordination

This paper proposes an adaptive strategy of co-regulating the three parameters—P/ω droop coefficient, virtual inertia, and damping coefficient—for synchronous generator (VSG). approach is able to solve uncoordinated performance between inertia using conventional control in which system may experience serious frequency fluctuations. Through mathematical modeling VSG grid-connected system, segmental analysis transient process carried out, parameter adjustment law each stage obtained. The angular velocity change instantaneous rate are associated with realize P/ω coefficient out real time according change. A functional relationship established so that coordinated keep best ratio state all time. Finally, superiority proposed proved by simulation comparison.
